In a small corner of Finoivista’s office, a special event took place this past Friday under the banner of “eCooking Fun.” This unique gathering witnessed the presence of a traditional cook from a roadside dhaba who had come to learn the intricacies of eCooking, specifically the use of Induction and Electric Pressure Cooker (EPC). The chosen menu for this demonstration was mouth-watering, featuring a South Indian thali that included Idli, Sambhar, Rice, Roties, and Appalam. What made this event even more remarkable was the gender shift in the kitchen dynamics, with both trainers and cooks being men, challenging the stereotype. One person from the team called out “why should girls have all the fun?” and the cooking adventure begun with a big laughter.

The eCooking Fun team embarked on their mission to educate their guest on the nuances and significance of eCooking in today’s world. Their guest was utterly fascinated by the level of energy efficiency that these modern cooking methods can achieve, It’s cost effectiveness, the automation in the cooking.. The team also took the time to elucidate the workings of the Electric Pressure Cooker and Induction cooking. The highlight of the event was the practical application of the skills learned. The guest was tasked with preparing each dish using the EPC and Induction, with the team on hand to provide guidance and support.

One of the standout features of eCooking methods is their impressive energy efficiency, resulting in significant cost savings. The Electric Pressure Cooker (EPC) cooked rice in a mere 22 minutes, consuming a mere 0.17 kWh of energy. This figure also included the energy used for the “keep warm” feature of the EPC. Preparing the aromatic Sambhar took a total of 55 minutes, utilizing only 0.45 kWh of energy This included the Vegetable Saute Process and Boiling Stage, which involved pulses and mixed vegetables. Roties were a breeze, taking just 2 minutes each to cook and consuming a mere 0.02 kWh of energy per roti. Meanwhile, a batch of 12 Idlies was prepared in just 6 minutes, including 1 minute for water steaming. Astonishingly, the Idlies were cooked using just 0.15 kWh of energy.
