Empowering Rural Women Through Clean Energy: Exposure-cum-Training Program at RuTAGe Center, Dobhi, Bihar
In an inspiring step toward strengthening rural communities through clean and modern technology, on dated 3rd December 2025, Finovista and J-WiRES jointly organized an exposure-cum-training program for 20 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at the RuTAGe Center in Dobhi, Bihar. The visit aimed to introduce rural women to innovative technologies, clean energy solutions and electric cooking appliances—tools that can significantly reduce their time, effort and household expenses while ensuring safety and modernization in daily routines.
Participants were then guided to the technology display section, where they interacted with various electric cooking devices and clean-energy innovations. Experts from Finovista and J-WiRES explained each appliance’s functionality, benefits, maintenance requirements and relevance for both household use and livelihood activities. The women showed immense curiosity, actively engaging in discussions and asking thoughtful questions. Their enthusiasm brought a dynamic energy to the learning environment.
One of the most exciting parts of the visit was the live cooking demonstration using electric appliances. Participants prepared tea, litti, and roti on induction stoves—many for the first time in their lives.
During the session, Trainers Explained Important Aspects such as:
1. Safety features of electric cooking devices
2. Cost savings and reduced fuel burden
3. Convenient financing options
4. Ease of operation and maintenance
Several women tried the appliances themselves, gaining first-hand experience and overcoming long-held misconceptions about electricity consumption, safety, and usability. Many expressed that this was their first real exposure to electric cooking, and it changed their perspective entirely.
Training Outcomes at a Glance
