MECS is excited to announce the launch of a new Technology Accelerator Challenge Fund Competition focusing on standalone and rooftop solar systems.

This challenge fund invites organisations to test innovative configurations of existing technology and business models to pilot and demonstrate stand alone or rooftop solar based systems that will be utilised for clean energy cooking.

There are four Lots A-D and applicants should state which Lot they are applying for:

Lot A – Household level Stand Alone Solar PV systems inclusive of eCooking

Lot B – Institutional and commercial level Solar based system, inclusive of clean Cooking.

Lot C – Rooftop Solar connected to a grid but specifically tied to ecooking appliances.

Lot D – innovations in the marketing and demonstration of the use of heat batteries for clean cooking.

Making an application

Organisations interested in applying for this Technology Accelerator should send a short Expression of Interest to mecs@lboro.ac.uk by Wednesday 21st August 2024.

Country of activity

Lot you are most likely to apply for

One or two sentences on the innovative configuration proposed

Please use ‘STARRS – EoI’ as the subject header of the email.

Please note that the EoI does not form part of the formal application process. It will be used by MECS to gauge interest across the 4 Lots before the application process is officially opened.
