to establish a long term partnership with India to achieve the transition from
biomass to clean cooking on a global scale. In particular, we will be
highlighting the tremendous business opportunities that exist for companies with
the right cooking devices and business models and setting out, with our Indian
partners, the support that will be provided for accessing these opportunities.
The workshop will include announcements of an Award that will identify the
world’s best energy efficient Electric Pressure Cookers (EPCs), and a call for
bids for a MECS Challenge Fund to be used to develop innovative modified
cooking devices that meet the particular needs of those with lower levels of
electricity access.
