Clean Cooking – Innovation Pavilion: Modern Energy Cooking Forum (MECF) 2025

The fourth edition of the Modern Energy Cooking Forum (MECF) – India 2025 was successfully held on 26th September 2025 in New Delhi, organized by the MECS Programme through its in-country partner, Finovista. The Forum was supported by NITI Aayog, the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India (O/o PSA), Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), and The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP).

The Forum brought together national and international participants, including representatives from government bodies, public and private sector stakeholders, developmental agencies, financial institutions, corporate foundations, policy think tanks, clean cooking technology enterprises, and the MECS Programme. Participants actively engaged in discussions on advancing the transition to modern energy-based clean cooking, with a focus on electricity, solar, ethanol, biogas, and hydrogen.

On the sidelines of MECF 2025, the Clean Cooking Innovation Pavilion showcased the latest advancements in clean cooking technologies for both household and institutional/commercial applications. The Pavilion featured live demonstrations of 17 national and international manufacturers’ innovations, allowing participants to experience their efficiency, usability, and scalability. Technologies presented included Induction Cooktops, Curved Infrared Cookers, Commercial Inductions and Woks, DC Solar Cooking Systems, Double Burner Induction and Infrared Systems (DC and AC), Biogas ITO-Enabled Systems, Hydrogen-Based Cooking Technology, and the recently modified compact version of Surya Nutan, which demonstrated strong adoption potential. The Pavilion provided a platform for manufacturers to showcase performance, explore market opportunities, and engage with stakeholders. Participants gained insights into scalable solutions for transitioning from traditional biomass and fossil fuels to modern, energy-efficient cooking methods.

The Forum also provided an important platform for Indian clean cooking device manufacturers to demonstrate their innovations and explore expanding market opportunities. The MECS Programme looks forward to continued support and collaboration to advance the transition to clean cooking and scale its impact globally.
