Electrifying Cooking: A just journey towards Net-zero

MECS will join anchor partners Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), Energising Development (EnDev) and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) to formally launch the Global electric Cooking Coalition (GeCCo) at COP28 in UAE.

The Ministerial event, which is hosted by COP28, GEAPP, SEforALL, MECS, EnDev and IRENA, will see the launch of the new coalition, GeCCo, that will focus on rapidly scaling the transition to electric cooking (eCooking) and ensuring that it is a just transition inclusive of the poor and marginalized. This high-level event will bring together government leaders, country Ministers, multiple international organisations and energy access programmes with clear action plans in several low- and middle-income countries, backed by climate finance.
