About the Technology Development Fund (TDF)
The Technology Development Fund (TDF) is an initiative of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, executed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to promote the indigenous development of defence and dual-use technologies.
The TDF scheme encourages greater participation of Indian industry, particularly MSMEs and Start-ups, in developing innovative technologies, systems, subsystems and components relevant to India’s defence requirements. DRDO describes TDF as a mechanism to promote Indian-designed, developed and manufactured technologies and strengthen indigenous defence capabilities.
Through grant-in-aid support and technology development, TDF aims to reduce technology gaps, encourage innovation and help move promising technologies towards real-world defence applications.

The Technology Development Fund creates opportunities for eligible Indian organisations, particularly MSMEs and Start-ups, to participate in the development of technologies relevant to defence and national security.
