Indigenously designed smart Multifunctional Displays for fighter aircraft

Project Description

Fighter aircraft currently rely on outdated display systems that hinder pilots’ ability to access critical mission data efficiently and effectively during operations. These legacy systems limit situational awareness and can reduce mission success rates.

To address these operational challenges, introducing a modern, indigenously designed smart multifunctional display system is crucial. This upgrade would enhance the pilot’s ability to access real-time data, improving decision-making capabilities. Additionally, it would reduce dependency on imported systems, bolstering self-reliance in defence technology. The new display would also help extend the operational life of the aircraft by incorporating advanced, reliable technology that meets current and future needs.

Functional and Operational Requirements

An advanced, multifunctional display is required to provide a comprehensive, integrated view of flight and mission-critical parameters while ensuring compatibility with legacy systems. It should additionally address the following:

  • Enhanced pilot situational awareness and operational efficiency.
  • Reduced maintenance costs and logistics dependencies through indigenous production.
  • Extended operational life and mission effectiveness of Jaguar DARIN I and
    II aircraft.

Testing and Certification Requirements

The indigenous smart multifunctional display for fighter aircraft must undergo performance, integration, and environmental testing (temperature, humidity, vibration). It should meet standards for resolution, data security, electromagnetic compatibility, and operational reliability.

Certification is required from IAF, CEMILAC, DGQA, and BIS.
